What a cookie actually does here

A cookie is a small text file our site asks your browser to keep, which it hands back on your next page. It holds a reference rather than your life story: a session identifier, a yes or no, a number. Related technologies such as local storage and single pixel images work the same way for our purposes and are covered by this page too.

Cookies are how a website recognises that two page loads belong to the same visit. Without them you would be logged out between the lobby and a game, every page would forget that you prefer AUD and the sound off, and the forms would have no way to tell a person from a script.

When you first arrive, the banner asks about everything except the strictly necessary category. Whatever you choose is itself stored in a cookie, which is why clearing your browser brings the banner back. You can change your mind at any time by clearing our cookies and answering again.

Who sets them and what that means

First party cookies are set by this site and read only by this site. They cover the whole of the strictly necessary and preference categories, plus most of our analytics. Third party cookies are set by a provider we work with: an analytics tool, an advertising platform, or the embedded player of a game studio whose titles sit in our lobby. A third party cookie is readable by that provider on their own terms, which is the main reason the banner treats them separately.

Analytics data reaches us as totals, not as a diary of your visit. We look at how many people reached the withdrawal page and left, not at what any individual did on a Tuesday. Marketing cookies are the narrowest in scope and the easiest to live without: they mostly exist so a promotion is attributed to the right campaign and so the same banner does not follow you around for a month.

No cookie we set holds your password, your card number or your verification documents. Those live on the account itself, protected as described in our privacy policy.

How to

Managing them in your browser

  1. Chrome, desktop or Android

Settings, then Privacy and security, then Third-party cookies for blocking rules, or Delete browsing data to clear what is already stored. Site specific control sits behind the padlock in the address bar.

  2. Safari on Mac and iOS

On Mac: Safari, Settings, Privacy, where you will find Block all cookies and Manage Website Data. On iPhone and iPad the same controls live under Settings, Apps, Safari.

  3. Firefox

Settings, then Privacy & Security. Standard, Strict and Custom protection levels are there, along with Cookies and Site Data for clearing a single site.

  4. Edge

Settings, then Cookies and site permissions, then Manage and delete cookies and site data, where you can block, allow or clear per site.

  5. A private window, for a single visit

Incognito or private browsing keeps cookies only until you close the window. Handy on a shared computer, and no substitute for logging out.

What stops working if you decline

Safe to switch off

  • Strictly necessary cookies only: login, deposits, withdrawals and gameplay all still work
  • Declining marketing cookies costs you nothing on the account side
  • Declining analytics affects us rather than you, since the data is aggregate
  • Clearing cookies logs you out but leaves your balance, history and bonuses untouched

Costs of switching off

  • Blocking all cookies, including the necessary ones, breaks login and payment pages entirely
  • Without preference cookies you reset currency, sound and favourites on every visit
  • A promotion clicked from elsewhere may not be attributed, so a bonus can need a manual fix from support
  • The consent banner reappears on every page load, because the record of your choice is itself a cookie

Cookie questions

Can I use VegasNow with cookies blocked completely?

Not really. The strictly necessary category is what carries your session, so a full block leaves you unable to stay logged in or complete a deposit. Block the other three instead.

Will clearing cookies lose my progress on a bonus?

No. Balances, wagering progress and bonus timers live on your account on our servers, not in your browser. Clearing cookies just signs you out.

Do you track me across other websites?

Our own cookies are limited to this site. Third party marketing and analytics providers may recognise a device across sites under their own policies, which is exactly what declining that category prevents.

How do I change the answer I gave the banner?

Clear the cookies for this site in your browser and the banner will ask again on your next visit.
